Basic Smartphone Skills for Seniors:

SoS Digital Mentoring service helps seniors who want to be connected with family and friends, by eliminating the frustration of dealing with digital devices and making it easier to use the latest technology.

Julie Novotny, the president of SoS, suggests that group training sessions can help seniors learn from each other and share their experiences. This can also help build a sense of community and reduce feelings of isolation. She feels that these workshops are one of the best places for beginners to learn the fundamentals of using a digital device at their own pace. Residents who want to move into the digital world should look at attending these workshops. 

SoS Digital Support is a newly formed not-for-profit group in the Bega Valley Shire dedicated to assisting seniors aged 50 and older to Get Connected and Stay Connected. 

Be Connected:

We will be utilising the Be Connected website tutorials, which are part of an Australian Government program aimed at increasing the confidence, skills, and online safety of older Australians when using digital technology. Good Things Foundation works in collaboration with the eSafety Commissioner and the Department of Social Services to deliver this program across Australia.
